A Historic Project: “Babur Park” to Be Established in Islamabad — A Symbol of Eternal Friendship between Uzbekistan and Pakistan
Islamabad :- At the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, His Excellency Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a unique “Babur Park” will be established in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. This park will serve as a heartfelt gift from the people of Uzbekistan to the brotherly people of Pakistan.
In this regard, from February 14 to 17 of this year, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan organized the visit of an official delegation led by the Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Khidoyatov. During the visit, substantive discussions were held with the leadership of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), leading architects, and industry experts. The meetings focused on the detailed review of the concept, architectural design, infrastructure, and implementation phases of the “Babur Park” project.
The park will be located in the prestigious F-7 sector of Islamabad on an area of 2.5 hectares and is expected to become one of the most beautiful and attractive landmarks not only of the capital but of Pakistan as a whole. The project envisions the creation of modern walking avenues, elegant fountains, sports and children’s playgrounds, lush green areas, and comfortable recreational spaces. In addition, a traditional Uzbek teahouse will be established, offering visitors the opportunity to experience Uzbekistan’s rich national cuisine. At the heart of the park, a bust of our great ancestor — Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, an outstanding statesman, thinker, and founder of the great Mughal dynasty — will be installed.
“Babur Park” will not merely be a place of recreation, but a living symbol of our shared history, deep spiritual bonds, and cultural affinity between our peoples. This project reflects profound respect for our great historical heritage while also looking forward to the future — further strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
I am confident that “Babur Park” will become a new landmark of Islamabad, a place of attraction for thousands of residents and visitors, and a powerful symbol of friendship, mutual respect, and brotherhood between our two nations.
This is not just a park. It is a bridge of friendship between our peoples. It is a symbol of our shared history and our shared future.
