Meeting between Convener Pakistan–Türkiye Parliamentary Friendship Group and Visiting Turkish Parliamentarian
Islamabad :- Convener of the Pakistan–Türkiye Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG), Shaista Pervaiz, MNA, held a meeting at Parliament House, Islamabad, with Zeynep Yıldız, Member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and Deputy Chairperson of the Digital Media Commission, who is visiting Pakistan in connection with the Indus AI Summit.
The Convener warmly welcomed the visiting parliamentarian and highlighted the deep-rooted historical, cultural, and religious bonds between Pakistan and Türkiye. She emphasized that the two countries share common values, mutual trust, and a longstanding tradition of solidarity.
The meeting focused on strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and enhancing people-to-people connections, particularly in the areas of youth engagement, education cultural exchange, and technological collaboration. Both sides acknowledged significant opportunities for cooperation in emerging fields such as digital media governance, artificial intelligence, ethical technology regulation, and youth capacity-building.
The Convener appreciated Türkiye’s proactive role in regional and global affairs and its principled stance on issues concerning the Muslim world. She reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting parliamentary diplomacy to further strengthen bilateral relations and mutual understanding.
Zeynep Yıldız expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and shared her perspectives on cultural preservation, education, and responsible technological advancement. She underscored the importance of closer parliamentary collaboration to address shared challenges, guide youth positively, counter misperceptions, and promote constructive global narratives.
Both sides agreed that sustained parliamentary engagement remains essential for strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the strong fraternal ties between Pakistan and Türkiye and a shared commitment to continued dialogue through institutional parliamentary channels.
