Pakistan-Senegal Tie Set for Davis Cup World Group II

Islamabad: The draws for the Davis Cup World Group II tie have been officially announced, with Pakistan set to face Senegal.


Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) organized the Davis Cup Training Camp for Davis Cup tie between Pakistan and Senegal, scheduled to be held on 6th and 7th February 2026 at the Pakistan Sports Complex.

Senegalese team has arrived in Pakistan and participated in intensive practice sessions alongside the Pakistani team, promising an exciting contest.

The tie will feature singles and doubles matches.
6th February Singles Matches: 10:30am
Muzammil Murtaza (Pakistan) vs Nicolas John (Senegal)

Followed by Aqeel Khan (Pakistan) vs Seydina Andre (Senegal)

Senegal captain Bedi Dieng stated in a press conference: “Pakistan is a strong opponent and defeating them on home ground will be a big challenge. Our team mainly consists of young players and we have limited experience on grass courts. We have been assessing Islamabad’s conditions for two days, and the hospitality here has been excellent. Our goal is to improve Senegal Tennis Team’s global ranking.”

Pakistan Tennis Federation President and star player Aisam-ul-Haq commented: “I will continue to play Davis Cup as long as the country needs me. We are determined to win the Group II tie against Senegal. Senegal has limited experience on grass courts, which we will use to our advantage. I also aim to enhance the skills of young players through my experience and will try to secure victory at home conditions.”
