
Islamabad :- Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, received the Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Than Swe, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq said Pakistan deeply values its longstanding friendship and cooperation with Myanmar. He noted that our bilateral ties are rooted in history and mutual respect.
Ishaq Dar said Pakistan is keen to strengthen its bilateral relations with Myanmar in areas of mutual interest through sustained and structured engagement and result oriented initiatives.
The Deputy Prime Minister said Pakistan sincerely desires peace, stability and prosperity for Myanmar and hopes the forthcoming general elections will contribute to stability, development and inclusive governance.
In his remarks, the Foreign Minister of Myanmar said his country will work together with Pakistan for promotion of cooperation in different sectors. He expressed the confidence that this meeting will pave the way for future cooperation.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar Than Swe, upon his arrival at Foreign Office, was warmly welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
