Islamabad — National Assembly Standing Committee on Commerce, chaired by Muhammad Jawed Hanif Khan, MNA, convened to deliberate on legislative business and passed two key Bills: The Export Development Fund (Amendment) Bill, 2026 and The National Tariff Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
During the meeting, a Member of the Committee, proposed few amendments to The Export Development Fund (Amendment) Bill, 2026. The amendments were adopted by the Committee, and following their incorporation, the Bill was passed unanimously by the Committee.
Subsequently, The National Tariff Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2026 was also passed unanimously by the Standing Committee.
The Chairman thanked all Members for their participation and stated that both Bills were of significant importance. He also appreciated the Members for attending the meeting and acknowledged their constructive and valuable input during the deliberations.
The meeting was attended by MNAs, Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Kiran Haider, Asad Alam Niazi, Gul Asghar Khan, and Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani in person and Shaista Pervaiz, Farhan Chishti, Choudhary Iftikhar Nazir and Muhammad Numan attended the meeting Virtually. The senior officers from Ministry of Law & Justice, Ministry of Commerce and National Assembly Secretariat were also present in the meeting.
