DG RDA directs Early Launch to Enhance Transparency and Public Service Delivery

RAWALPINDI: A pivotal review meeting was held at the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Conference Room to assess the progress, features, and implementation roadmap of the e-Biz Portal and the e-Filing and Office Automation System (e-FOAS) system. These key digital initiatives aimed at improving governance, enhancing transparency, and strengthening public service delivery within the Authority.

The meeting was chaired by the Chief Planner RDA, Muhammad Tahir Meo. During the meeting, the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) representative Zaid bin Tariq, delivered a comprehensive presentation online outlining the operational framework, key functionalities, and phased implementation plan of both digital platforms. The briefing highlighted how these systems will streamline processes, reduce manual intervention, and ensure greater efficiency in service delivery.

In line with the vision of the Chief Secretary Punjab, Zahid Akhtar Zaman, all public services across government departments are to be made available through the e-Biz Portal. This strategic direction aims to eliminate the need for citizens to physically visit government offices, thereby saving time and resources while promoting paperless governance. The initiative represents a major milestone towards digitization, improved transparency, and enhanced accountability in public sector operations across the province.

The Director General RDA, Kinza Murtaza, directed all directorates of RDA to fully adopt modern planning tools and digital systems to ensure transparency, efficiency, and the highest standards of work. She emphasized that the e-Biz Portal and e-FOAS system would play a crucial role in strengthening institutional governance and facilitating timely and effective public services. The DG RDA further stated that both systems would be launched in RDA very soon, marking a new era of digital transformation within the Authority.

The meeting was attended by the Director Admn RDA Iftikhar Ali, Director Land Ghazanfar Ali Awan, Deputy Director IT Dawood Khalid, Director LU&BC Atif Chaudhry, along with other officers and officials of RDA.

The participants reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing inter departmental coordination, ensuring efficient execution of development projects, and continuously improving service delivery mechanisms. It was collectively resolved that the adoption of digital solutions would significantly contribute to the overall development, transparency, and improved governance of Rawalpindi, ultimately benefiting citizens and stakeholders alike.
