
DG RDA Kinza Murtaza Announces Construction of Four Parking Plazas to Ease Traffic Congestion in Rawalpindi.
RAWALPINDI: Provincial Minister for Housing, Bilal Yasin, visited the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA). During the visit, the Director General RDA, Kinza Murtaza, briefed the Provincial Minister on the progress of ongoing projects and upcoming development initiatives of the Authority.
The briefing highlighted major RDA projects, including the Rawalpindi Ring Road, the widening of Murree Road, construction of an underpass at the end of Double Road, and the development of four modern parking plazas across the city. Of these, two plazas will be located near Kachehry Chowk, while the remaining two will be established on Jinnah Road Raja Bazaar. These initiatives are expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in the city. She has said these four parking plazas will have a parking capacity of more than 5,000 vehicles.
Following the briefing, the Provincial Minister also visited the Banth Interchange of the Rawalpindi Ring Road project to review various aspects of its progress. The DG RDA, Kinza Murtaza, informed that 78 % of the project has been completed and stated that it will be fully operational by the end of March 2026.
Appreciating RDA’s overall performance, the Provincial Minister directed that urban development and public facilitation projects be completed within their stipulated timelines. He emphasized that the Housing Department is actively focusing on low cost housing schemes, improving urban infrastructure, and ensuring the provision of essential civic facilities to the public.
The DG RDA said once completed, the Ring Road Project will provide a vital link between different parts of the city, enhancing connectivity and promoting economic growth in the region.
RDA is working in close coordination with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth progress of the Ring Road project, while strictly adhering to all safety protocols.
The DG RDA has issued clear instructions for the timely and efficient completion of the project.
Members of Provincial Assembly Raja Abdul Haneef Advocate, Malik Iftikhar, Imran Ilyas Chaudhry, Raja Saghir, Mohsin Ayub Khan and others attended the meeting.
