Russia offers significant potential for Pakistani exporters, Amb Tirmzi

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia Visits ICCI

Islamabad: Ambassador of Pakistan to the Russian Federation, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, visited the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and held a comprehensive interaction with the ICCI leadership, including President Sardar Tahir Mehmood, Senior Vice President Tahir Ayub, and Vice President Irfan Chaudhry, along with members of the business community.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi highlighted the growing importance of Pakistan–Russia economic relations and briefed the business community on emerging trade and investment opportunities in the Russian market. He emphasized that Russia offers significant potential for Pakistani exporters, particularly in textiles, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, surgical instruments, sports goods, Pink Salt and IT services. The Ambassador assured ICCI members of the Embassy’s full facilitation in resolving trade-related issues, promoting business-to-business linkages, and supporting Pakistani participation in exhibitions and trade fairs in Russia.
The Ambassador also emphasized the need for more and more B2B meetings to obtain the objective in the best interest of the business communities of both the sides.
Speaking on the occasion, ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood warmly welcomed the Ambassador and underscored the need to further expand bilateral trade and investment. He stressed the importance of diversifying Pakistan’s export basket to Russia and strengthening institutional collaboration between chambers of commerce of both countries. Senior Vice President Tahir Ayub emphasized improving banking channels, logistics, and payment mechanisms to ensure smoother trade flows, while Vice President Irfan Chaudhry pointed out opportunities in energy cooperation, agriculture, IT, and joint ventures. The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to enhance Pakistan–Russia economic cooperation through sustained public-private sector engagement.
Former President ICCI Mohammad Ejaz Abbasi, Roman Butt, Kashif Zahir also contributed their insights for the promotion of two countries business ties.
ICCI Executive Members, Abdul Rehman Siddiqui, Waseem Chaudhry, Chaudhry Nadeem Ahmed, Zulqurnain Abbasi, former SVP Khalid Chaudhry and ICCI member Shahid Zafar were also present on the occasion.
