Civil aviation strengthens the economy and air connectivity, Syedal Khan

Director General, Civil Aviation Authority met with Deputy Chairman Senate

Islamabad. The meeting focused on matters relating to the civil aviation sector, the challenges faced by the industry, and future strategies for its improvement and sustainable development.
During the meeting, the Director General CAA briefed the Deputy Chairman Senate on the administrative, operational, and developmental aspects of the Civil Aviation Authority. He shared details regarding the overall performance of the Authority, facilities being provided to passengers, ongoing reform initiatives, and measures aimed at enhancing efficiency, safety, and service delivery within the aviation sector.
Senator Syedal Khan emphasized the vital role of civil aviation in strengthening the national economy and promoting air connectivity across the country and internationally. He stressed the need for further improvement, transparency, and effective measures to ensure enhanced passenger facilitation and modernized aviation services.
The Deputy Chairman Senate also reviewed the performance of the national flag carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). He issued special directions regarding the increase in PIA flights on various domestic and international routes, expansion of air connectivity, and reduction in airfares to provide affordable travel options for passengers.
Expressing strong commitment, Senator Syedal Khan reaffirmed that Parliament would extend full support for the improvement and revival of the civil aviation sector and the national airline. He underscored that these efforts are essential to ensure the provision of quality, safe, and cost-effective air travel facilities to the public.7
