LAHORE: The In-charge of the Peoples Labour Bureau and prominent labor leader, Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed, has issued a scathing condemnation of the recent U.S. military operation in Venezuela and the illegal abduction of President Nicolás Maduro.
In a statement released to the press, Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed characterized the U.S. action as a “naked act of imperialist piracy” and an affront to the collective dignity of the Global South.
Chaudhry Manzoor stated that “Operation Absolute Resolve” is a direct violation of the United Nations Charter and the principles of national sovereignty. He remarked, “The abduction of a sitting President is not a law enforcement action; it is international gangsterism. If the United Nations cannot prevent such blatant violations of its own charter, it risks becoming a redundant institution that only serves the interests of the powerful.”
A Warning to the World
Emphasizing the gravity of the situation, the labor leader warned that this intervention sets a dangerous global precedent: “The world must realize that this imperialist madness will not be confined to Venezuela. If this aggression is allowed to stand, it will inevitably spread, engulfing other sovereign nations that dare to defy the dictates of Washington. Today it is Caracas; tomorrow it could be any nation that prioritizes its people over foreign profits.”
Chaudhry Manzoor highlighted that the charges of “narco-terrorism” against Maduro are nothing more than a “juridical smokescreen.” The true objective is the seizure of the world’s largest oil reserves and the destruction of the Bolivarian socialist model. “This is a classic case of resource imperialism. The capitalist center is desperate to arrest its falling rate of profit by looting the wealth of the Venezuelan proletariat,” he added.
The Peoples Labour Bureau has issued an urgent appeal to trade unions, progressive movements, and the working class across the globe to stand in unwavering solidarity with the people of Venezuela.
“We stand shoulder to shoulder with the Venezuelan workers and the communal councils (Comunas) in their resistance against this neo-colonial assault. We call upon all peace-loving forces to protest this barbarism and demand the immediate release of President Maduro and the cessation of all imperialist interference in Latin America.”
