Pak–US ties improve, gains expected in 2026, Amb Rizwan

Washington DC : Ambassador Pakistan’s to the USA, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh has said the previous year witnessed positive trends in Pakistan–U.S. relations while the current year will be the year of positive outcomes.

Talking to the media at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington D.C, he said the prospects are positive and clear.

However promoting bilateral relations based on mutual interests across all possible sectors and translating the existing opportunities into practical outcomes will make the current year extremely important.

Rizwan Saeed Sheikh said that history bears witness to the fact that whenever Pakistan and the United States have come together, the results have been positive. In modern history, examples of such large and successful partnerships are rare.

Highlighting the importance of the partnership between two major countries with large populations, the Ambassador said that Pakistan–U.S. cooperation is not merely a matter of desire or choice; rather, due to geographical, economic, demographic, social and other reasons, it is an essential and unavoidable necessity of the times.

He said as soon as the current U.S. administration assumed office, contacts between the senior leadership of both countries created a positive impression, reaffirming the commitment to a long-term partnership based on economic relations.

In this context, he specifically mentioned sectors such as minerals, energy, information technology, health, education, and counterterrorism.

Referring to the ongoing dialogues between the two countries in various sectors, he said that Pakistan’s effort is to advance cooperation in all areas in an institutionalized and well-organized manner
