Islamabad : Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, will depart for Dhaka tomorrow to attend the funeral prayers of former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Begum Khalida Zia.
The visit is being undertaken on the directions of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, reflecting the deep respect and solidarity of the Government, Parliament and people of Pakistan with the brotherly people of Bangladesh at this moment of profound grief.
During his visit, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will convey heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Prime Minister, Government, Parliament and the people of Pakistan to the bereaved family of Begum Khalida Zia, paying tribute to her political legacy and contributions.
In addition, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will hold meetings with senior officials of the Interim Government of Bangladesh.
The visit underscores Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening parliamentary and people-to-people relations with Bangladesh and expressing solidarity during times of sorrow.
