Islamabad : Deputy Chairman Senate, Senator Syedal Khan, has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the passing of former Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, Shamshad Akhtar. He termed her demise as an irreparable loss to her family.
In his condolence message, the Deputy Chairman Senate said that Shamshad Akhtar was a highly competent, dignified, and visionary economist who made outstanding contributions towards strengthening the national economy, ensuring financial discipline, and shaping economic policy frameworks.
Senator Syedal Khan further stated that the services rendered by the late Shamshad Akhtar and her insightful role in the field of economics will always be remembered, and her name will continue to be held in high esteem in Pakistan’s economic history.
The Deputy Chairman Senate extended heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty Allah grant them patience and strength to bear this irreparable loss, forgive the departed soul, and grant her the highest ranks in Jannah.
