Providing a dignified Platform to Women artisans is Need of hour, Dy Chairman

Islamabad: Deputy Chairman of the Senate, Senator Syedal Khan, has said that Pakistan is a country rich in cultural and civilizational heritage, which gives it a distinct and prominent identity among the nations of the world. He noted that the diversity of traditions, civilizations, and cultural colors flourishing across Pakistan reflects the nation’s strength, and their promotion can foster social harmony, positive thinking, and creative growth.
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the cultural exhibition titled “Safar-e-Saqafat” (Journey of Culture) after formally inaugurating the event by cutting the ribbon as chief guest. The exhibition was organized by Digital Nexus, in collaboration with the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), with K2 Channel as a media partner.
Congratulating the organizers on the successful arrangement of the exhibition, the Deputy Chairman Senate said that “Safar-e-Saqafat” is not merely an exhibition but a living portrayal of Pakistan’s cultural identity, social consciousness, and rich heritage. At a time when society needs positive narratives, creative opportunities, and dignified platforms, such initiatives serve as a shining example, he added.
Syedal Khan expressed particular satisfaction that the exhibition highlighted and acknowledged the efforts of women artisans who work tirelessly from their homes, keeping traditional skills alive but often lacking access to proper opportunities and recognition. He said the exhibition clearly conveys the message that women are second to none—in skill, courage, or creative potential.
He paid special tribute to Ms. Sabohi Hussain and Hussain Subhani for their dedicated efforts in bringing dozens of talented women together under one roof, providing them visibility and confidence. He remarked that their initiative demonstrates that when intentions are strong, pathways emerge on their own. According to him, the exhibition lays a solid foundation for women’s empowerment, self-reliance, and social inclusion.
The Deputy Chairman Senate also appreciated the role of PNCA, terming it a positive and welcome development that, for the first time, PNCA performances were taken beyond Islamabad. He observed that while people once traveled long distances to Islamabad for cultural activities, today Islamabad’s culture has reached the people themselves—an embodiment of true cultural harmony.
He further lauded K2 Channel and other partners for their collaboration in amplifying the positive message of culture, women empowerment, and creativity to a wider audience.
Concluding his address, Syedal Khan expressed hope that “Safar-e-Saqafat” would not remain confined to a single exhibition but would evolve into a movement, creating more opportunities for artists, women artisans, and youth, while revitalizing Pakistan’s cultural identity with renewed energy.
He once again congratulated all organizers, partners, and participating women, and extended his best wishes for the continued success of their endeavors.
