
Islamabad : Meeting of the Standing Committee on Human Rights was held in Committee Room No. 7 Parliament House. Sehar Kamran, MNA presided over the meeting.
The meeting commenced with recitation from the Holy Quran. The Committee expressed its concern and took serious cognizance of the complete absence of representatives of Ministry of Human Rights. Notwithstanding the presence of nine Members of Standing Committee, no officer or official from Ministry appeared to respond to the August Committee. The Committee unanimously resolved to initiate Privilege Proceedings against Ministry of Human Rights for its blatant disregard, unprofessional conduct, and lack of seriousness towards the functions and authority of the Committee. Consequently, the meeting was called off as a mark of protest.
