
Islamabad : On the anniversary of the tragic attack on Army Public School, Peshawar, Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, paid solemn tribute to the innocent students and teachers who laid down their lives on December 16, 2014. He said that the APS tragedy remains one of the most painful and unforgettable moments in the history of Pakistan, a wound that continues to grieve the entire nation.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated that the barbaric act of terrorism shook the conscience of the nation but also strengthened Pakistan’s collective resolve to stand united against terrorism and extremism. He emphasized that the sacrifices of the APS martyrs became a symbol of national unity, courage, and unwavering determination to eliminate terrorism in all its forms.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq praised the patience, strength, and resilience of the bereaved families, stating that their courage in the face of immense loss is a source of inspiration for the entire country. He reaffirmed that Parliament remains fully committed to supporting strong and effective legislation to counter terrorism and ensure lasting peace and security in the country.
Referring to recent events, the NA Speaker strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the school bus of Army Public School in Khuzdar, Balochistan. He also lauded the Pakistan Army and security forces for foiling the cowardly and brutal attack on Cadet College, Wana, by Indian-sponsored Khawarij, stating that such acts only further strengthen the resolve of Pakistan’s Armed Forces and security agencies, who will not rest until all terrorist elements are completely eliminated.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq further stated that with the complete support of the people of Pakistan, the armed forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their decisive actions against terrorism. He underscored that December 16 is not only a day of remembrance but also a day of renewed national resolve to safeguard future generations and ensure a peaceful and secure Pakistan.
Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, also paid a heartfelt tribute to the martyrs of Army Public School. He said that the sacrifices of the innocent students, teachers, and the brave personnel of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies will always be remembered with honor and respect. He added that these sacrifices have united the nation against terrorism and reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm commitment to peace, stability, and sovereignty.
Both the Speaker and Deputy Speaker reiterated that the nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its armed forces and security institutions in the fight against terrorism, and that the memory of the APS martyrs will continue to guide Pakistan’s path toward a safer and more secure future.
