Remarks by Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq During the Session
Islamabad: During the session of the National Assembly, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, while addressing the House, stated that he deemed it necessary to bring to the attention of the House certain irresponsible statements made by a Member of the Assembly the previous day.
The Speaker said that, first of all, the said Member entered the House and announced in the Opposition lobby that he intended to approach the Chair in order to disrupt the proceedings of the House.
He pointed out that the same Member subsequently issued yet another irresponsible and provocative statement, declaring that he would use the public to halt the proceedings of Parliament.
The Speaker recalled that similar circumstances were faced in 2014 as well, and even then Parliament played a pivotal role in safeguarding the Constitution and democracy. He affirmed that they are fully prepared to firmly counter any such attempts.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that, as the Custodian of the House, it is his constitutional responsibility to protect Parliament. He remarked that statements made against the House and the State are not only highly inappropriate but also an attempt to undermine the democratic process.
He further stated that such thinking and statements must be collectively discouraged to ensure the supremacy of Parliament, the preservation of the constitutional system, and the protection of democratic traditions.

Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Responds to the Speech of MNA Barrister Gohar Ali Khan in the National Assembly Session
Islamabad, 1st December 2025: Responding to the speech of Member National Assembly Barrister Gohar Ali Khan during today’s session, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated that all Members of Parliament are fully aware that his doors have always remained open. He said that all his efforts for reconciliation and dialogue are before everyone and are neither hidden nor ambiguous.
The Speaker remarked that the Prime Minister, the Minister for Law, and he himself have repeatedly made it clear that issues can only be resolved through dialogue, not confrontation. “Speak to me with respect and goodwill; I have no objection. I am fulfilling my constitutional and parliamentary responsibilities,” he added.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stressed that if anyone claims they will bring people to attack Parliament, they may attempt so , but such tone and language will never be acceptable. He asserted that Parliament is the house of the people, and its dignity will be protected at all costs.
He further stated that on that day he had extended an offer of dialogue to the opposition leader, but the response he received was: “Talk to India, talk to Afghanistan — but I will not talk to you.” Despite this, the Speaker noted, “I gave you the microphone, and you yourself said that you wished to talk. I invited you to my chamber — was my role negative in any way? I even seated the government before you to ensure the continuity of dialogue.”
The Speaker emphasized that Parliament is the home of political dialogue, where all differences must be resolved within the framework of the Constitution and the law.
