ISLAMABAD : Native Youth Club for Climate Change (NYCCC) and Welthungerhilfe (WHH) in November formalized their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance climate resilience, youth capacity building and community-based sustainability initiatives across Pakistan.
MoU was signed during the National Climate Conference of Youth (COY) 2025 & Climate Excellence Leadership Awards, held in Islamabad. The agreement reflects a strengthened partnership aimed at promoting research, empowering young climate leaders and supporting community resilience programming in vulnerable regions.
The MoU was signed by M. Umair Mufakir, CEO of NYCCC and Isabel Bogorinsky, Head of Program at Welthungerhilfe (WHH).
Both organizations will work together to scale youth-led climate action, enhance technical knowledge exchange and design strategic initiatives aligned with Pakistan’s climate adaptation priorities. It added that the partnership seeks to expand green skills, advance resilience-focused projects and promote sustainable development through targeted interventions at the community level.
The conference, attended by youth leaders, government representatives, diplomats and development partners, also hosted panel discussions on green skills, community-driven climate action and the role of youth, women and faith actors in advancing national climate priorities.
Senior dignitaries, including H.E. Alexandra Berg von Linde, Ambassador of Sweden to Pakistan, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi and State Minister for Climate Change Shezra Mansab Ali Khan Kharal, commended NYCCC’s efforts and reaffirmed support for youth inclusion in climate policy.
The press release noted that the signing of the MoU marks a collective step toward long-term and strategic collaboration between NYCCC and WHH, aimed at uplifting vulnerable communities and strengthening Pakistan’s climate resilience agenda.
