RDA Imposes Ban on Illegal Housing Scheme Waqar Town

RDA Seals Two Marriage Halls and 10 Commercial Properties on Chakri Road

RAWALPINDI: On the directions of the Director General, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Kinza Murtaza, the RDA Enforcement Squad carried out an operation against illegal constructions and sealed two marriage halls namely Grand Royal Marquee and Deewan Marquee, along with 10 commercial properties on Chakri Road.
In another action, the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate RDA, has issued a notice to the illegal housing scheme Waqar Town, Mouza Jararhi, Dhok Abdullah, Rawalpindi. RDA has imposed a complete ban on the illegal housing scheme, prohibiting all types of construction and property transfers.
The DG RDA has taken strict notice of such violations and warned the general public to avoid illegal housing schemes. She urged citizens not to fall victim to fraudulent schemes or be misled by false claims of approval. RDA advises the general public, in their own interest, not to invest in illegal housing schemes.
The sponsors and developers have also been warned to immediately stop the marketing of their unapproved/illegal schemes. They have been instructed to contact RDA for obtaining NOC/approval as per law, failing which strict legal action will be taken.
The MP&TE Directorate has also sent letter to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Islamabad and Cyber Crime Wing regarding illegal advertisements of private housing scheme on social media, WhatsApp, YouTube, and other online platforms. He added that some owners/developers were falsely claiming that they had obtained NOC from RDA.
The DG RDA has directed the MP&TE Directorate to take strict actions against all illegal/unauthorized housing schemes, commercial activities, booking offices, and encroachments without any fear or favour.
The General Pulic is requested that for information or to file a complaint, citizens may contact the RDA.
