AI Leaders Fellowship Launches to Advance National AI Innovation

Karachi, Ministry of IT & Telecom (MoITT) supported the launch of the AI Leaders Fellowship Pakistan, through Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB). Together with Google Cloud in collaboration with SAP and TMC (TallyMarks Consulting), this initiative brings together major enterprises, global technology partners, and stakeholders from Pakistan’s digital ecosystem to enhance the country’s readiness for artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

The Fellowship aims to support 100 leading Pakistani enterprises in strengthening their capacity to adopt and operationalise AI. Through a structured, multi-modal learning experience, including expert-led masterclasses on key topics including agentic and ethical AI, 1:1 consultations, knowledge transfer sessions , and access to specialised e-learning labs and sandboxes, the program enables organisations to explore practical, production-focused AI applications that align with real operational needs.

Participants will also benefit from complimentary access to Google Cloud’s Skills platform, hands-on exposure to new AI tools and releases, technical mentorship, and cross-industry peer engagement.

Selected organisations may also receive case study visibility for successful implementations, while eligible projects may be supported through technical partnership for proof of concept (POC) development. The initiative further facilitates One Google engagement opportunities, giving enterprises direct access to global expertise and advisory support.

Commenting on the initiative, the Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, emphasised the importance of strengthening national capability through global collaboration.
Pakistan’s journey toward a digitally empowered future depends on building the skills, partnerships, and institutional capacity needed to adopt emerging technologies responsibly. Guided by the Prime Minister’s vision of a ‘Digital Nation Pakistan,’ the AI Leaders Fellowship Pakistan brings world-class expertise to our local ecosystem. We appreciate Google Cloud and its partners for supporting this important national effort.”

The launch event reflected the growing momentum within Pakistan’s enterprise sector, as organisations increasingly seek structured pathways to integrate AI-driven solutions that enhance productivity, resilience, and competitiveness.

Farhan Qureshi, Google Pakistan’s Country Director, said on the occasion. “The launch of the AI Leaders Fellowship Pakistan is a key step in deepening our investments in the country. Pakistan possesses immense talent and vast potential, and initiatives like this are essential to ensure that we are empowering businesses with the right knowledge and skills for this AI-powered economy. We are incredibly excited to see the impact the Fellowship will have, and we look forward to supporting the solutions that these leading companies will develop to make a tangible and lasting difference to the community and the nation as a whole,” he said

“_SAP and Google Cloud have joined forces to deliver unified Data and transformative AI capabilities to Pakistan. This marks a pivotal step in enabling enterprises to modernize their core, build intelligence into every process, and translate data into real, sustainable business impact.” _Fahad Zahid, Interim Country Manager of SAP Pakistan, who moderated the panel discussion at the AI Leaders Fellowship kick-off, expressed his continued support for the collaboration with Google Cloud to accelerate Pakistan enterprises on their digital transformation journey.

With the successful kickoff in Karachi featuring masterclasses from SAP, Google Cloud and Google Developer Experts, the Fellowship now transitions into a multi-month engagement through which participating companies will work closely with international experts, explore responsible AI development, and contribute to Ministry of IT’s vision of Digital Nation Pakistan and Pakistan’s broader digital transformation.
