RDA Warns Public Against Illegal Sale and Purchase of Plots in University Town

RDA Urges Citizens to Verify Housing Schemes Before Investment to Avoid Financial Loss.

RAWALPINDI : On the directions of the Secretary, Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering (HUD&PHE), the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has cautioned the general public to remain vigilant against any illegal advertisements, sale, or purchase of plots in the housing scheme known as University Town.
As per the directions of Director General RDA, Kinza Murtaza, the Authority has taken serious notice of numerous of public complaints received against this housing scheme. To ensure a thorough investigation, the DG RDA has constituted a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to conduct a detailed inquiry into the matter in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
In this regard, RDA has formally requested the Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi to block the CNIC numbers of the owner and sponsor of University Town through NADRA. Furthermore, the DG RDA has directed to ban the transfer, sale, and purchase of land owned by the said developer. It has also been decided to place the owner / sponsor’s name on the Exit Control List (ECL) and to lodge an FIR.
The general public is strongly advised not to invest or purchase plots in University Town, situated in Mouza Bajnial, Service M-2, Tehsil and District Rawalpindi. Citizens are urged to verify the legal status of any housing scheme from RDA prior to making any investment, to avoid financial loss.
