Doha : Nasser Bin Faisal Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Director General of Al Jazeera Media Network, called on President Asif Ali Zardari.
Welcoming the Director General, President Zardari appreciated Qatar’s warm hospitality and the excellent meetings held with the Qatari leadership, including His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, the Prime Minister, and the Minister for Defence.
The President commended Al Jazeera’s global role in promoting objective journalism and fostering understanding among nations. He lauded Qatar’s principled stance on regional and international issues, particularly its leadership in efforts to end the suffering of the Palestinian people and bring peace to Gaza.
Mr. Nasser Bin Faisal Bin Khalifa Al Thani thanked the President for the opportunity to call on him and appreciated Pakistan’s support and solidarity with Qatar during the recent crisis and its consistent advocacy for the people of Palestine.
The Director General informed the President that a high-powered Al Jazeera delegation would soon visit Pakistan to gain Pakistan’s perspective on key regional and global issues.
The meeting was attended by First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar.
