Message of Acting President on the 556th Birth Anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji
Islamabad : Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has extended heartfelt felicitations to the Sikh community in Pakistan and across the world on the auspicious occasion of the 556th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He said that the message of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji is a beacon of humanity, interfaith harmony, peace, and tolerance. His teachings guide humanity towards mutual respect and love, steering it away from hatred, intolerance, and division.
The Acting President expressed satisfaction that Pakistan considers it a sacred responsibility to preserve and maintain the birthplace of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Nankana Sahib, along with other revered sites. He added that continuous efforts are being made to provide the best possible facilities to visiting pilgrims. He further stated that the Constitution and the State of Pakistan fully guarantee equal rights to all minorities, while the promotion of national unity, interfaith harmony, and tolerance remains the bedrock of our democratic values.
Mr Gilani said that on this blessed occasion, we must draw inspiration from the teachings of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji and play our part in building a society where every individual enjoys dignity, justice and freedom, thereby making the world a home of peace and love.
