Pakistan’s maritime sector holds vast economic potential, Saleh Al Jasser

OPENING CEREMONY OF PAKISTAN INTERNATIONAL MARITIME EXPO AND CONFERENCE (PIMEC-25)

Karachi : The opening ceremony of second edition of Pakistan International Maritime Expo and Conference 2025 (PIMEC-25) was held at Expo Centre, Karachi. Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, Saleh Al Jasser was Guest of Honour and Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Upon arrival, the Guest of Honour and the Chief Guest were received by Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf.

While addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest highlighted immense potential of Pakistan’s maritime sector in rejuvenating the national economy. He appreciated efforts of Pakistan Navy in promoting awareness among masses about the significance of Blue Economy and especially for organizing the Maritime Expo to showcase country’s maritime potential. The Chief Guest formally announced opening of PIMEC 25 and unveiled the commemorative postal stamp, followed by a tour of the expo.

The four-day event is being organized by Pakistan Navy under the patronage of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and will continue till 6 Nov 25. The active participation of delegations from 44 countries and 178 international and domestic exhibitors reflects the growing global interest in Pakistan’s maritime domain.

This mega event represents a landmark initiative aimed at enhancing maritime awareness among national stakeholders and the international community, while highlighting the vast untapped potential of Pakistan’s Blue Economy.

The event was attended by an impressive gathering of civil and military leadership, international delegations, and representatives from industry and business sectors.
