Pak-US stressed need for peace and stability in Afghanistan

Islamabad : Charge D’ Affairs of USA Embassy, Natalie Baker called on Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif.
Matters of mutual interest and avenues to further strengthen the bilateral defence cooperation were discussed in detail.

The Defence Minister underscored that Pakistan and the United States enjoy a longstanding relationship grounded in mutual respect and shared objectives for stability and prosperity.

Both sides expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and appreciated revitalized momentum and growing warmth between two countries.

Pakistan’s constructive role and growing contribution as a responsible and forward-looking partner in the international community was appreciated.

The evolving situation in Afghanistan also came under discussion. Both sides underscored the importance of a peaceful, stable, and secure Afghanistan, emphasising challenges emanating from its territory should be effectively addressed to safeguard regional peace and stability.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation to sustain the current positive trajectory of bilateral relations and to further expand cooperation in multiple fields.
