Pakistan’s climate agenda aims to boost resilience, cut emissions, and attract climate finance, Dr. Shezra

Seoul :-  Dr. Shezra Mansab Ali Kharal, Minister of State for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination attended the 14th Session of the Assembly and 18th Session of the Council of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in Seoul, Republic of Korea being held between 29th and 31st October.

Minister of State delivered a keynote speech at the Inaugural Session of the event today, titled “Implementing International Carbon Markets: Country Experiences and Strategic Pathways to 2023”. The session was attended by a large number of government officials from New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Senegal, Norway, Sweden, and Zambia among others, Climate Change experts, representatives of NGOs and Media.

Minister Dr. Kharal stated that Pakistan has demonstrated significant commitment and leadership in addressing Climate Change both internationally and domestically. She reiterated that Pakistan’s comprehensive Climate agenda includes implementing a range of policies and initiatives to enhance country’s climate resilience, mitigate emissions, and mobilize climate finance.

On the sidelines of the Global Green Growth Week, Minister of State will hold important bilateral meetings with the delegation from the Government of Norway as well as the representatives of various International NGOs.

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a treaty-based international organization promoting green growth, balancing economic development, and environmental sustainability. Ban Ki-moon, former UN Secretary General is the current Chair and President of the Institute.
