The ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, AKAMATSU Shuichi, called on Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, to discuss Pakistan-Japan relations.
The DPM/FM encouraged efforts to further deepen Pakistan–Japan relations across diverse areas, and exchanged views on key regional & international developments.
Dar highlighted that while Pakistan and Japan have enjoyed friendly ties for decades, there is significant potential to expand this relationship into a more dynamic partnership. Both sides agreed on the need to transform mutual goodwill into stronger economic and strategic cooperation.
The discussion also touched on the growing opportunities for Pakistani skilled workers in Japan. With Japan facing labor shortages, both sides recognized the benefits of creating new pathways for Pakistani professionals to contribute to the Japanese workforce.
