
Minister of State Barrister Aqeel Malik Reaffirms Commitment to Accessible and Speedy Justice
Islamabad : Minister of State for Law and Justice, Barrister Aqeel Malik, addressed an event organized by the National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR), emphasizing the government’s resolve to strengthen access to justice and uphold fundamental rights.
He lauded the NCHR’s role in promoting human rights and creating platforms for dialogue on issues of dignity, fairness, and equality. The Minister stated that ensuring justice which is fair, timely, and accessible remains central to the Ministry’s vision. Barrister Aqeel Malik highlighted key reform measures, including modernization of court systems, promotion of e-filing and digital records, strengthening of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), and capacity building of legal institutions to improve efficiency and reduce delays.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to its international obligations under the ICCPR, underscoring that timely justice is integral to constitutional rights and the rule of law.He concluded by calling for collective efforts of lawmakers, judges, lawyers, and civil society to ensure that justice in Pakistan is both accessible and meaningful for every citizen.
