
LONDON : Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, held a meeting with Asim Ranjha, Deputy Mayor of Slough (London), who hails from Sargodha and is of Pakistani origin. Asim Ranjha was accompanied by Barrister Asghar Ranjha during the meeting.
During the interaction, the Chairman Senate lauded Ranjha’s valuable contributions toward the welfare of the Pakistani community in the United Kingdom. He said that overseas Pakistanis act as a vital bridge between Pakistan and the UK, promoting goodwill, understanding, and cooperation. “We deeply value the contributions of our expatriate community, whose efforts strengthen Pakistan’s image abroad,” he added.
*Chairman Gilani, who was in the United Kingdom during his transit to Barbados to participate in the 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC), noted that Pakistan and the United Kingdom enjoy historical relations rooted in mutual respect and shared values. He expressed Pakistan’s desire to further deepen cooperation in diverse sectors, including parliamentary exchange, trade, education, and community development.
Deputy Mayor Asim Ranjha thanked the Chairman Senate for his appreciation and reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving as a bridge between the Pakistani diaspora and the host communities in the UK.
