Islamabad, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has assumed the responsibilities of the Acting President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Under Article 49(2) of the Constitution of Pakistan, in the absence of both the President and the Chairman Senate, the Speaker National Assembly performs the functions of the Acting President. Accordingly, Secretary Cabinet Division, Kamran Ali Afzal, has issued the official notification confirming that Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has assumed the charge of Acting President. He will continue to discharge these responsibilities until the return of the President and Chairman Senate to the country.
