Teams HUM, Public News score big wins in RISJA Tournament

Islamabad, Cricket teams of HUM News and Public News showcased their dominance in the second RISJA Inter Media Cricket Tournament, registering emphatic victories in today’s matches.

HUM News outclassed SAMAA News by 81 runs. Batting first, HUM News piled up a formidable 183-2 in 15 overs, led by a brilliant knock of 74 runs off 42 balls from Sumair Butt, supported by Ghayoor’s unbeaten 43. In reply, SAMAA News faltered and were bundled out for just 102 runs. Sumair Butt’s all-round performance earned him the Player of the Match award.

In the second encounter, Public News defeated Geo News by 31 runs. Muhammad Umair struck a blazing 63 off 32 balls while M. Murtaza added a valuable 58, taking their side to 156-5 in 15 overs. Geo News, despite Hassam’s fighting 51*, managed only 125 in their innings. Muhammad Umair was declared Player of the Match for his match-winning innings.

With these results, HUM News and Public News have made strong statements early in the tournament, keeping the competition alive and intense among media houses.
