Hum News, CDA score big wins in RISJA Inter-Media Cricket

Islamabad — Second RISJA Inter-Media Cricket Tournament witnessed two thrilling fixtures, with Hum News and CDA recording convincing victories.

First match, Hum News defeated ARY News by 5 wickets. Batting first, ARY News managed 112 runs in 14.4 overs. Tariq top-scored with 59 off 39 balls, while Rawayat Khan contributed 17. For Hum News, Sumair Butt and Naveed picked up three wickets each. In reply, Hum News chased down the target in just 8.5 overs, finishing at 113-5. Umer blasted a sensational 57 off only 21 deliveries, while Ghayoor remained unbeaten on 24. For his brilliant all-round show, Sumair Butt was declared Player of the Match.

In the second encounter, CDA crushed Public News by 81 runs. Batting first, CDA posted a massive total of 163-6 in 15 overs. Anjum struck a blistering 54 off 22 balls, while Waqas added 41 and Jamshed scored 24. For Public News, Waseem Malik took 2 wickets. Chasing the target, Public News faltered and were bundled out for just 82 runs in 12.3 overs. Asad Sheikh (26), Muhammad Umair (18), and Arshad Ahmed (17) were the top contributors. CDA’s Faisal Satti bowled exceptionally, grabbing 5 wickets for only 6 runs, and was named Player of the Match.

The matches were graced by former Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed as chief guest. He distributed prizes among the players and congratulated RISJA for organizing such a remarkable tournament for the media, expressing hope that RISJA will continue arranging similar healthy and positive events in the future.
