Speaker Pays Tribute to Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan on 22nd Death Anniversary

Islamabad : Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq paid tribute to the Father of Democracy, the late Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan, on his 22nd death anniversary, acknowledging his political struggle and invaluable services. He said that Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan was a sagacious statesman who rendered invaluable services for the strengthening of democracy and the promotion of democratic values. He always remained committed to the rule of law, the supremacy of Parliament, and the protection of people’s rights.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq further stated that Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan’s political vision, reconciliatory approach, and unmatched ability to transform differences into unity remain a guiding light for national politics even today. He said that Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan’s lifelong struggle not only strengthened consensus-based politics but also left behind a legacy of democratic values and national harmony.

Speaker NA said that Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan was an active worker of the Pakistan Movement and, as Chairman of the Kashmir Committee, he vigorously highlighted the Kashmir issue at the international level.

Speaker NA added that, in recognition of his political services, Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan’s cap and hookah, which he personally used, have been preserved as memorials in the Hall of Honor of the National Assembly. He said that Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan’s honesty and commitment to democratic values serve as a beacon of guidance for the younger generation.

Speaker National Assembly affirmed that Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan’s struggle and services will always be remembered in history. He also prayed to Allah Almighty for the forgiveness of the departed soul and for the elevation of his ranks in Jannah.
