US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker Reaffirms U.S. Commitment to Pakistan’s Flood Recovery During Visit to Relief Camp in Kasur

Lahore : U.S. Chargé d’Affaires (CDA) Natalie Baker underscored the United States’ steadfast commitment to Pakistan’s flood recovery efforts during her visit to Lahore and Kasur.

In her meeting with Punjab Relief Commissioner Nabeel Javed, CDA Baker discussed the ongoing emergency response in Punjab and highlighted the U.S. contribution of lifesaving disaster relief in support of Pakistan’s recovery efforts.

On September 14, CDA Baker met with displaced families and rescue workers at relief camps in Kasur, one of the hardest hit districts along the Sutlej River.

Chargé d’Affaires Baker honored the resilience of those affected and applauded the tireless efforts of relief workers. “I commend the district administration’s vital integrated approach that ensured not a single life was lost in this area. The district level response included life-saving recovery, immediate relief, and sustained care for the families affected by the flooding, and serves as a model of excellence,” she stated.

CDA Natalie Baker also met with All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) members and with young professionals from business, government, IT, education, arts, culture, and various other sectors while in Lahore. CDA Baker stressed the U.S. commitment to trade and economic growth stating, “We want to bring the best of American technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship to create jobs and promote prosperity for the people of both the United States and Pakistan.”

The visit reinforced the United States’ enduring partnership with Pakistan – a relationship that spans decades and continues to prioritize shared interests, economic opportunities, people-to-people ties, and humanitarian support.
