ICCI hosts distinguished Flag Hoisting & Cake Cutting Ceremony

Pakistan Armed Forces Lauded for Safeguarding the Country’s Sovereignty

ISLAMABAD : The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) celebrated the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan with a dignified flag-hoisting and cake-cutting ceremony held at the Chamber premises. The event was attended by a large number of business leaders from various markets, members of the executive body and ICCI staff, all coming together to mark the national occasion with pride and solidarity.
Speaking on the occasion, Nasir Mansoor Qureshi, President ICCI, said that Pakistan was achieved after immense sacrifices, and it is the collective responsibility of the nation to honor the vision of its founders by transforming it into a prosperous and welfare-oriented state. He emphasized that the guiding principles of Unity, Faith, and Discipline, as laid down by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, remain the key to making Pakistan stronger and more respected among the comity of nations.
President Qureshi stressed the importance of forging national unity and working together to overcome challenges. He reaffirmed that the business community would fully support the government’s initiatives aimed at placing the economy on a path of sustainable growth. Highlighting ICCI’s role, he reiterated the Chamber’s dedication to positioning Pakistan as a competitive and attractive destination for both domestic and foreign investors.
The ICCI President also paid glowing tributes to the armed forces of Pakistan, particularly Field Marshal Asim Munir, for leading the nation’s defenders in frustrating the nefarious designs of India and enhancing the country’s esteem as well as for playing a proactive role in the country’s economic betterment — results of which are already beginning to show.
Abdul Rehman Siddiqui, Senior Vice President ICCI, called on the nation to promote “Made in Pakistan” products to strengthen the economy from within. He emphasized that promoting ease of doing business and creating a conducive investment climate are vital for steering the country out of its current economic challenges.
Nasir Mehmood Chaudhry, Vice President ICCI, pointed out that Pakistan is blessed with abundant natural resources. He urged the government to work closely with the private sector to fully harness these resources, which could help transform Pakistan into a rising economic power.
The event was attended by prominent figures from the business community, including former President Mohammad Ejaz Abbasi, Convener ICCI Standing Committee on HEC Adnan Mukhtar, advisor to ICCI President Naeem Siddiqui as well as a large number of executive members. The ceremony, though simple in nature, reflected a deep sense of patriotism and a collective resolve to work for the nation’s progress.
