RDA Seals Head Office of Illegal Housing Scheme Golden City

RAWALPINDI: On the directions of the Director General (DG), Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Kinza Murtaza, enforcement squad RDA sealed a head office of an illegal housing scheme namely Golden City, Mouza Mohri Khatrain near Pakistan Employees Cooperative Housing Society (PECHS), Rawalpindi, and sealed five illegal properties on the Bank of Nullah Dhamyal Kalyal and 5 shops on Adyala Road, Mouza Jarahi, Rawalpindi.
According to an RDA spokesperson, the sponsor of Golden City Scheme was involved in illegal advertisement through social media for booking of plots without obtaining the mandatory No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from RDA. It is clear violation of the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the Punjab Private Housing Schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2021.
Despite prior notice, the sponsor failed to comply with RDA directives, prompting enforcement action. The sealing operation was conducted by the RDA Enforcement Squad.
The DG RDA, Kinza Murtaza reaffirmed RDA’s unwavering commitment to enforcing planning regulations. We will continue to take firm actions against illegal housing schemes, all forms of illegal and unauthorized construction and commercial activities, without any fear or favor. Such violations will not be tolerated.
She said that the actions follow direct instructions from Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who has mandated a zero-tolerance policy on encroachments, illegal developments, advertisements and constructions.
She also urged the general public to act responsibly by avoiding investment in unapproved housing schemes and encouraged them to verify the legal status of any project with the RDA before making financial commitments.
We call upon citizens to help us eliminate encroachments by cooperating with the authority and ensuring that urban development follows legal and approved frameworks, she added.
For verification and updates regarding approved housing schemes, the general public is advised to contact RDA or visit the official website www.rda.gop.pk.
