Fire erupted Ministry of Science building due to a short circuit

Islamabad — A fire broke out on the second floor of the Ministry of Science and Technology building due to a short circuit in the HVAC unit. The ministry’s installed fire safety system was immediately activated, and thanks to the prompt response by the fire brigade and rescue teams, the fire was brought under control in time.

Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Mr. Khalid Hussain Magsi, arrived at the scene immediately upon receiving information about the incident. He conducted a detailed assessment of the situation and instructed that the building be evacuated as a precautionary measure. Under his supervision, a timely evacuation was carried out, preventing any loss of life. No records were damaged in the incident.

Secretary Sajid Baloch closely supervised the rescue operations, evacuation process, and firefighting efforts. The swift coordination between ministry officials and emergency responders ensured the safety of all personnel present.

The Federal Minister has directed a thorough inspection of the electrical system and an assessment of the damage caused. He emphasized that all necessary steps will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future and to further strengthen the building’s safety protocols.
