
RDA Task Force Expands Operations, Targets Two Housing Schemes PECHS and The Life Residencia.
RAWALPINDI: Following directives from the Divisional Intelligence Committee, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA)’s Task Force is ramping up its operation against illegal developments and illegal housing schemes.
According to an RDA spokesperson, the RDA Enforcement Squad has executed a significant operation targeting two housing schemes namely Pakistan Employees Cooperative Housing Scheme and The Life Residencia at Mouza Mohri Khatran and Ghurbal, Tehsil and District Rawalpindi. The operation led to the sealing site offices, demolishing road infrastructures, illegal structures and removed advertisements of these housing schemes.
The crackdown was supervised by the Director General (DG) RDA, Kinza Murtaza, who emphasized the continuation of such operations to combat fraudulent practices and to protect citizens from exploitation. The DG RDA said that under the guidance of the Commissioner Rawalpindi, we are committed to maintaining a vigorous approach in eliminating illegal development in housing societies. She emphasized that public complaints regarding illegal land occupation by housing scheme owners are being taken seriously, and strict actions will be taken against those involved in forceful land grabs.
The RDA consistently issues press releases to inform the public and advises citizens to avoid investing in illegal housing schemes. The public is encouraged to visit the RDA website (www.rda.gop.pk) and only engage with approved housing schemes.
Despite previous warnings to cease illegal advertisements, bookings, and development activities, the owners of the mentioned housing schemes continued to operate booking offices in violation of regulations.
The joint operation team included officials from the RDA and Police Station Naseerabad, Rawalpindi. Key team members were Planning Superintendent Shafqat Shah, Building Inspectors Tariq Kamboh, Imran Hussain along with other RDA operation team members.
