Pak-Azerbaijan Focus on Energy & Economic Partnerships

Azerbaijan’s commitment to deepening economic and energy cooperation, Amb Khazar

Islamabad : Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik was called on by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, H.E Khazar Farhadov, at the Ministry of Petroleum. The discussions centered on strengthening bilateral relations particularly in the energy sector and exploring new avenues for economic cooperation.

Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s steadfast support to Pakistan in recent conflict with India, reaffirming the deep-rooted brotherly ties between the two nations. He underscored that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif greatly values the Azerbaijan’s solidarity with Pakistan. Azerbaijan has always stood behind Pakistan. Pakistan is thankful to the brotherly countries for extending support in one of the most challenging occasions of recent times. He emphasized the importance of enhancing collaboration in oil and gas exploration, energy trade, and investment opportunities.

Ambassador Farhadov reiterated Azerbaijan’s commitment to deepening economic and energy cooperation with Pakistan, emphasizing the shared vision for energy connectivity and development. He stressed that Azerbaijan highly regards its relationship with Pakistan. Together, we aim to deepen our historic brotherly relations through stronger economic cooperation, focusing especially on energy partnerships.

The Minister highlighted his upcoming participation in the Baku Energy Week, where he will represent Pakistan and engage with global energy leaders to promote partnerships for sustainable energy development. He also noted that SOCAR Upstream, Azerbaijan’s state owned company, is in talks with Pakistani counterparts for potential collaborations in the exploration sector, which could open new opportunities for mutual growth.

Both sides agreed to accelerate discussions on joint ventures to harness the full potential of their strategic partnership.They expressed optimism about future collaborations that will benefit both nations and contribute to energy security in the region.
