Flag Hoisting Ceremony Held to Observe Youm-e -Tashakkur in New York
New York : The Consulate General of Pakistan and the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations jointly held a solemn Flag Hoisting Ceremony to observe Youm-e-Tashakkur (Day of Gratitude), marking Pakistan’s successful and resolute response to recent Indian aggression.
The ceremony was attended by officers and officials from both Missions. In his remarks, Consul General of Pakistan, Mr. Aamer Ahmed Atozai, highlighted the exemplary professionalism, precision, and restraint demonstrated by Pakistan’s Armed Forces during Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsous, which effectively repelled Indian aggression and resulted in the downing of multiple aircraft, including Rafale jets. He emphasized that Pakistan’s response was grounded in the principles of responsible state behavior—deliberately avoiding civilian casualties while conveying a clear message of deterrence and national resolve.
The Consul General reaffirmed the Government of Pakistan’s principled position: that while Pakistan remains committed to peace, it will never compromise on its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He paid tribute to the unity and resilience of the Pakistani people, and the courage and preparedness of the nation’s armed forces and leadership in safeguarding the country’s interests.

Ambassador Asim Iftikhar, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, also addressed the gathering and echoed these sentiments. He lauded the professionalism and restraint of Pakistan’s defense forces and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to regional peace and stability, firmly rooted in the implementation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
The event concluded with a collective prayer for the security, progress, and continued strength of Pakistan.
