Termez Dialogue aims to be a lasting platform for boosting regional ties

The First Meeting of Termez Dialogue on Connectivity between Central and South Asia to be held in Termez on May 19-21

Termez:- Termez will host the first meeting of the Termez Dialogue on Connectivity between Central and South Asia on the topic: “Building a Common Space of Peace, Friendship and Prosperity”.

The event is organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.
The international forum will bring together about 200 participants from Central and South Asia, Europe, the CIS, Asia Pacific, America, and the Middle East. Among them are representatives of political and economic circles, business circles, financial institutions, international and regional organizations, as well as prominent experts from analytical and research centers around the world.
The main goal of the dialogue is to form a multilateral discussion platform for the practical promotion of the special resolution of the UN General Assembly “Strengthening the Connectivity between Central and South Asia”, adopted in 2022 on the initiative of the President of the Republic Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev.
The forum participants will discuss the current state and prospects of interregional cooperation between Central and South Asia. The focus will be on strengthening cooperation in ensuring security, stability and sustainable development, expanding the role of the private sector and financial institutions in ensuring economic growth.
Among the main expected results is the adoption of a Communique calling for joint efforts to strengthen trust and cooperation between Central and South Asia.
The Termez Dialogue is intended to become a permanent platform for defining prospects for further promotion of interregional interconnectedness and maintaining peace, security and stability on the vast Eurasian continent.
The event will be held at the Termez International Trade Center in the city of Termez, Surkhandarya region.
