Pakistan welcome the restoration of peace, Dr. Malik

Islamabad : Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik, referring to the recent regional tensions, Dr. Malik regretted the tragic loss of life on both sides, attributing the escalation to India’s failed attempt to assert hegemonic dominance in the region. “We are happy that peace has now been restored,” the Minister stated.

Dr. Musadik Malik, received the Ambassador of Nepal, H.E. Ms. Rita Dhital, for a courtesy call.
Federal Minister emphasized Pakistan’s longstanding commitment to regional peace and stability, underscoring that Pakistan has been a victim of terrorism and unprovoked aggression.

He stated that Pakistan speaks from a position of clarity and dignity, and while it earnestly seeks peace, this desire must not be misconstrued as a sign of weakness.

Ambassador Dhital expressed Nepal’s relief at the de-escalation between the two nuclear-armed neighbours, acknowledging the challenging circumstances faced by Pakistan. She lauded Pakistan’s leadership in global climate advocacy and its consistent efforts in environmental protection.

The Ambassador extended a formal invitation to Dr. Musadik Malik to attend the inaugural session of a regional Climate Dialogue Forum being hosted in Nepal. She noted that the event will culminate in a non-binding declaration and will include the participation of climate ministers from across South Asia and other regions.

Both sides reaffirmed that climate change remains one of the most urgent global challenges and committed to enhanced regional cooperation to tackle its adverse impacts.
