1st Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children

Colombia (GNP): The Government of Colombia hosted the 1st Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children (VAC) with support from the Government of Sweden. 

The Search For Justice mentioned attending the 1st Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children. He said, “World leaders gather to pledge a future free from violence, abuse, exploitation, and harmful practices for every child.”

The Chairperson of NCRC, Ayesha Raza Farooq, and the Chairperson of CPWB Sarah Ahmad attended the conference representing Pakistan.

The Chairperson Ayesha discusses the measures to end Violence Against Children. She pledged, “I make this pledge on behalf of the children of our country Pakistan to ensure that every child is safe from all forms of violence in all contexts.” 

Therefore, she emphasizes the pledge that discusses the “strengthening and enforcement of the child protection laws.” Moreover, she stressed that the government will focus on “building the child-sensitive and gender-responsive workforce” 

Chairperson Ayesha Raza said, “143 Governments pledge to end VAC through supportive parenting, safe school environments & support services for victims.”

Chairperson Sarah Ahmad said about attending the Conference as the Pakistan delegate, “We will make some concrete pledges on behalf of the Government of Pakistan shortly.”

She further discusses the pledge which is about to “support parents and caregivers to practice non-violent discipline.” This will impact the family dynamic across Pakistan.
